ABSTRACT
DIGITAL DESIGN METHODOLOGY 1 is a new spin on beginning architectural design, introducing digital skill sets Building information modeling and parametric thinking through drawing, modeling, and prototyping.
The course give a board overview of the development of digital tools in architecture and interior, focusing on the development and application of digital tools used on actual project. The course is bought together by two very experience architect/designer who have actual projects, their sharing in the tools, experience and problems faced in design of their every day work.
HOMEWORK
The exercises progress from the component base design in interior. Getting to understand each stage the needs and requirement from conceptual design> Detail Design> Tender> Construction… we are interested in getting a set of genereate “lego” component base elements to
two-dimensional drawings and graphic compositions, to three-dimensional spatial studies, to physical and material investigations. At each step, computational design tools and digital information are used to generate, analyze, prototype architectural design propositions.
SOFTWARE/ Requirements
- Rhino/ Grasshopper
(no prior experience with Rhino and Illustrator is required, in fact, the exercises are structured for students to learn how to deploy these tools from scratch). Regardless of specific software tools, the principles that are introduced and applied in this course make it suitable for a range of audiences—beginners, as well as professionals who wish to retool their skills in digital design.
